The DEN Shack is going international! Previously available exclusively at the Meiji-Jingu Gaien Shack in Tokyo, Shake Shack is now bringing its limited-edition burger collaboration with Michelin-starred Chef Zaiyu Hasegawa to the Madison Square Park Shack. It will be available for one day only on Friday, June 30th , starting at 10:30AM, while supplies last.
The DEN Shack ($6.99) is an all-natural 100% Angus beef burger topped with applewood-smoked bacon, DEN miso ShackSauce, sansho pepper and house-pickled cucumbers.
The Madison Square Park Shack will also be spinning a Black Sesame Shake ($5.29), featuring vanilla frozen custard blended with black sesame puree. Like the DEN Shack, the Black Sesame Shake will be available for one day only on Friday, June 30th while supplies last.
Zaiyu Hasegawa is the chef and owner of Tokyo’s two Michelin-starred Jimbocho Den (No. 11 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants). He focuses on Japanese fine-dining with a playful twist, with the aim to make his diners smile with every dish.
“Chef Zaiyu and I first created the DEN Shack to celebrate our Gaien Shack’s 1-year anniversary, and I can’t wait to share this incredible burger, which highlights and blends Chef Zaiyu’s imaginative approach to Japanese cooking and flavors with Shake Shack’s roadside-inspired fare, with our New York fans,” said Culinary Director, Mark Rosati.
“My first ShackBurger was at Madison Square Park, and I can still remember how wonderful it was,” said Chef Zaiyu Hasegawa. “I enjoyed working with Mark in Japan, and it’s a dream come true to collaborate again in NYC.”
