MD is the place to be! Shake Shack® is proud to announce that it will open its second Maryland location at MGM National Harbor on Thursday, December 8th at 11PM. The Shack will neighbor MGM’s National Harbor’s culinary space, National Market, which has an indoor market feel with numerous food stalls.
Minutes from the nation’s capital, MGM National Harbor offers stunning panoramic views of the eastern shore of the Potomac River in Maryland. The 24-story, 308-room resort features premier amenities and experiences for locals as well as visitors, including a casino, world-class spa and salon, entertainment theater and high-end retail stores. Shake Shack will be in good company amongst restaurants from renowned local, national and international chefs.
Shake Shack is a critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers and flat-top Vienna beef dogs (no added hormones and no antibiotics ever), 100% all-natural cage-free chicken (no antibiotics ever), spun-fresh frozen custard, crinkle cut fries, craft beer and wine and more. A fun and lively community gathering place with widespread appeal, Shake Shack has earned a cult-like following around the world.
The first Maryland Shack opened in Inner Harbor in 2015, and the MGM National Harbor Shack will join the DC-area Shack family along with the Dupont Circle, Union Station, F Street, Nationals Park, Tysons Corner and Pentagon City Shacks.
The MGM Shack will be spinning up a selection of local frozen custard concretes including the Maple, Bacon & Banana (vanilla custard, Astro Doughnuts maple bacon doughnut and banana), Pie Oh My (vanilla custard and slice of The Pie Life seasonal pie) and Shack Attack (chocolate custard, fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough and Mast Brothers dark chocolate chunks, topped with chocolate sprinkles), a classic Shack fan favorite.
As part of Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good®, Shake Shack will donate five percent of sales from the Pie Oh My concrete to support Moveable Feast, a nonprofit that provides no-cost nutritious meals to those in need. Shack team members will also volunteer at events run by the organization.
In keeping with Shake Shack’s commitment to thoughtful and responsible design, the MGM National Harbor Shack’s tabletops are made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes by CounterEvolution; chairs are designed by Uhuru using sustainable materials; booths are crafted by Staach using lumber certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council; and the walls are clad in reclaimed local barn wood.
