Double the flavor, double the fun. Shake Shack’s setting up shop at the Mall of America in the new Culinary on North space, on the third floor of the recently opened mall expansion. The location, Shake Shack’s first in Minnesota and fourth in the Midwest, opens its doors Thursday, June 9th at 11AM.
Shake Shack is a critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers and flat-top Vienna beef dogs (no added hormones and no antibiotics ever), 100% all-natural cage-free chicken (no antibiotics ever), spun-fresh frozen custard, crinkle cut fries, craft beer and wine and more. A fun and lively community gathering place with widespread appeal, Shake Shack has earned a cult-like following around the world.
“Mall of America is one of our country’s greatest gathering places,” said Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti. “We’re excited to be a part of its historic new expansion, the biggest addition in its 23-year history. Where better to build a Shack than the place where the people of Minnesota and guests from around the world come together?”
The Mall of America Shack will source beef from cattle raised in Minnesota, in partnership with Revier Cattle Co. Founded by the Revier family in 1867, Revier Farms uses feed made from locally grown crops, reducing fuel consumption and carbon footprint.
The Mall of America Shack menu will feature two location-specific frozen custard concretes: Malt of America (vanilla custard, peanut butter sauce, marshmallow sauce, crumbled sugar cone cookie and malt powder) and Butter Coffee Blend (vanilla custard, butter-coffee caramel sauce and shortbread cookie). The Shack will also be spinning up a Shake Shack classic, the Shack Attack (chocolate custard, fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough and Mast Brothers Shake Shack dark chocolate chunks, topped with chocolate sprinkles).
As part of Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good®, Shake Shack will donate five percent of sales from the Malt of America concrete to Open Arms of Minnesota, providing nutritious meals for people living with life-threatening illnesses in the Twin Cities. The Shack team will also volunteer at events run by the organization.
Guests can quench their thirst with a selection of local craft beer from Summit, Lift Bridge, Badger Hill, Grain Belt and Brau Brothers, in addition to the Shack-exclusive ShackMeister® Ale from Brooklyn Brewery. Wine lovers can sip on Shack Red® and Shack White® wine from Frog’s Leap Winery or Mionetto Prosecco.
In keeping with Shake Shack’s commitment to thoughtful, well-crafted and responsible design, the Mall of America Shack’s tabletops are made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes by CounterEvolution and chairs are designed by Uhuru using sustainable materials. Booths are crafted by Staach using lumber certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council. The walls of the Shack are clad in Minnesota reclaimed barn wood, and reclaimed walnut from Montana.
