Stand For Something Good
We Stand For Something Good® in everything we do. That means carefully sourced premium ingredients from like-minded purveyors we admire and love; thoughtful, well-crafted and responsible design for its place; and deep community support through donations, events and volunteering. Thanks for standing with us!
We pride ourselves on sourcing incredible ingredients from ranchers, farmers, bakers, and food purveyors who all share our values. We’re dedicated to ensuring that ALL our meat is antibiotic and hormone free.
Our burgers are made with 100% Angus beef that’s humanely raised, vegetarian fed, and source verified. Our chicken is real white-meat that’s fresh, never frozen. Our flat-top dogs? 100% beef from the pros at Vienna® Beef in Chicago. Our fries are crinkle-cut golden potatoes with no trans fats. And our vanilla and chocolate frozen custards only use real sugar (no high-fructose corn syrup) and milk from dairy farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones.
About The Beef
Our custom blend of freshly ground (never frozen!) 100% Angus beef, made from premium whole muscle cuts—with no hormones or antibiotics, ever—is the founding DNA of our menu. It’s provided by the famed meat supplier Pat LaFrieda and other amazing butchers throughout the U.S.
U.S. Animal Welfare Policy
To further transparency for our team, guests and suppliers, our U.S. Animal Welfare Policy outlines our core beliefs, where we are and where we’re going.
The SmokeShack® is topped with 100% gluten-free, MSG-free, nitrite-free bacon, made using old world charcuterie techniques by Niman Ranch’s independent family farmers, who raise livestock humanely and sustainably.
Fact: burgers taste better with a cold craft beer. The ShackMeister® Ale, made just for us by Brooklyn Brewery, is our ShackBurger’s BFF with a deep golden color, bright citrus aroma, slight bitterness, and bready malt flavor.
Martin's Potato Rolls
The best thing since sliced bread: all buns in all Shacks worldwide are non-GMO and made by our potato-y pals at Martin’s Potato Rolls. P.S. They’ve got gluten-free buns, too!
Don’t forget, Shake Shack began as a humble hot dog cart. All of our dogs are 100% beef and made by Chicago’s Vienna® Beef, featuring their original hickory-smoked recipe that’s been the same for over 125 years.
Don’t call it ice cream: our dense, rich, and creamy frozen custard is the real deal. Our vanilla and chocolate recipes only use real sugar (no high-fructose corn syrup), cage-free eggs, and milk from dairy farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones.
All of our Shack-made sauces and frozen custards feature cage-free eggs sourced from U.S. producers, whose hens are fed an all-vegetarian diet.

Good 'n' Green
Through partners like Niman Ranch, we’re committed to supporting ranches and farms designed to have minimal negative impact on the environment, preserving the land for future generations.
Thanks to our partnership with Restaurant Technologies Inc., 185,606 pounds of trash, or the equivalent of what 891 dumpsters hold, have been eliminated as a direct result of having a clean oil management system. Plus, we’ve recycled 2,316,600 pounds of waste oil to-date.
Raise the roof! Our King of Prussia, PA; The Domain, Austin; and Westbury, Long Island Shacks feature solar roofs that each produce about 20,400kWh/year, or the average consumption of two average-size single homes.
Each Shack is constructed thoughtfully and purposefully to fit its unique environment, using a creative design approach that creates places and experiences like nowhere else. Think walls made of reclaimed antique barn wood siding, one-of-a-kind murals commissioned from local artists, living green walls and lighting installations inspired by local surroundings. All good in the wood!

We strive to be the best employers and citizens of each neighborhood we call home. The five main areas we support are: hunger relief, arts and culture, education and family, environment, animal welfare, and health.
Our Shack Gives Back volunteer program encourages our teams to get involved in causes they feel passionate about—from animal welfare to education—in their communities, plus they donate more than 2,000 hours a year to serve meals to the hungry, mentor kids in need, clean up parks and much more, all for the betterment of their Shack’s community.

Local Artisanal Food Partners
At Shake Shack, we take care of each other first and foremost so that we’re set up to succeed for our guests, community, suppliers, and investors. At least 65 new jobs are created every time we open a Shack. Join our team.
Giving is sweet! Every year since 2012, we’ve teamed up with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign to raise money towards their goal of ending childhood hunger in America. During the campaign, Shake Shack guests who donate $2 or more receive a card for a free shake—valued at $6—redeemable on their next visit.
