We’re cookin’ up something big, Shack fans! Not only are we opening our West Village flagship location, we’re thrilled to also introduce our first-ever, state-of-the-art Innovation Kitchen! Located on the lower level of our West Village flagship Shack, our Innovation Kitchen will be the hub of all menu development at Shake Shack.
For more than a decade, our culinary team, led by Mark Rosati, has worked out of a small space in Midtown Manhattan, and developing new menu recipes in a modest kitchen has been a challenge to say the least. This incredible new kitchen will allow our culinary team to get even more creative, dig deeper into our fine dining roots and explore new opportunities as we continue to grow globally!
The Innovation Kitchen will allow us to dream up new menu items like our Veggie Shack (currently testing in a few markets) and even more chef-driven collabs like our “Humm Burger” with chef Daniel Humm and “Eel Burger” with London’s chef Fergus Henderson.
We are excited to announce our first official Innovation Kitchen test item will be Chick’n Bites: crispy pieces of hand-breaded chicken breast, served with your choice of BBQ or Honey Mustard sauce. Chick’n bites will be launching exclusively at the West Village Shack where guests can order them in a 6-piece or 10-piece meal.
Along with Chick’n Bites, a variety of new recipes being tested in the Innovation Kitchen will make their way upstairs onto the West Village Shack menu! Our guests will be the first taste these exclusive items and provide feedback in real time. The West Village Shack’s menu will be unique to all others, featuring a rotating list of items from the Innovation Kitchen, so swing by to find out what we’re testing! Who knows? Your favorites might just make it onto the permanent menu nationwide!
