New Town Plaza Shack is our first location in New Territories in the Sha Tin district, which lies on the other side of Lion Rock from the congested urban areas of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Sha Tin was once a rural backwater of fishing and farming settlements, but it was transformed into a suburban New Town in the 1970s. Today, it is Hong Kong’s most populous district, home to 641,000 people, but it still retains the feeling of the countryside, with historic walled villages, lush hills and a string of green spaces along the Shing Mun River.
New Town Plaza is the flagship shopping destination in Sha Tin. In contrast, the Shack design takes inspiration from the literal translation of Sha Tin – sandy field – with serene colors, natural finishes and a luminous ceiling. Local artist Elaine Chiu created two stunning pieces: one depicting the history of the district and the other of our MSP Shack.
Five percent of sales from the New Territories Twist concrete benefit the local Sports for Hope Foundation charity partner, which supports young underprivileged athletes in Hong Kong.
