Vice President of Brand Marketing

The Vice President of Brand will oversee an experienced, multi-functional team that includes Brand Strategy, Campaign Development, Communications, Public Relations, Social Media, Culinary Strategy, CSR, and an In-house Design team to drive breakthrough brand and sales impact. This role, reporting to the CMO, requires a passionate, creative, and strategic leader with a proven track record of elevating consumer brands through innovative messaging, narratives and storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and oversee the planning, development, and execution of the company's global brand vision, messaging, and strategy
  • Lead the development of programs, execution, and measurement of campaigns that aim to build brand trust, affinity, and audience growth
  • Develop and lead innovative sales driving campaigns across all channels to drive frequency, retention and average check
  • Lead briefing and collaboration with creative agencies and in-house talent on marketing initiatives with goals spanning awareness, engagement, acquisition, and sales
  • Drive our culinary planning, including menu and category development, LTO's and promotional activities through data-driven menu optimization and strategic product planning
  • Elevate our design, creative development, original content and storytelling capabilities through channels like video, in-Shack merchandising, partnerships, events and collabs
  • Oversee the engagement and activation of our social and digital communities to create deeper relationships with new and existing fans
  • Supercharge our progress in ESG/CSR and accelerating our work on sustainability, diversity & inclusion and food insecurity initiatives
  • Build a clear view and understanding of our target guest and leverage data to develop insight-based recommendations to deliver the most effective targeted campaigns and brand experiences
  • Own brand guidelines and lead the design and copy teams to implement innovative creative across all communication channels, including digital, email and our employment brand
  • Work closely with all levels of cross-functional Senior Leadership to support key business priorities
  • Attract and retain top talent across multiple marketing disciplines

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to execute creative campaigns
  • Ability to push boundaries and encourage creative exploration and risk taking while protecting the integrity of the brand
  • Strategic thinker who can understand business complexities and develop an innovative and creative brand marketing plan that addresses these nuances
  • A keen eye for visuals and copy and experience developing next level original content
  • Enthusiastic team player with the flexibility to re-prioritize, multi-task and switch tasks fluidly
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative with an innovative mindset to drive new ideas and think outside of the box as an entrepreneurial leader
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly

  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills


  • 15+ years of professional experience working on brand strategy/marketing in leading ecommerce and/or retail businesses, CPG and product strategy experience a plus
