Legal Counsel

The Legal Counsel will support the Legal Department in fulfilling its responsibilities to (1) identify, assess and reduce the Company’s legal, financial and business exposure, (2) to ensure the Company’s value and interest are protected and preserved, and (3) to ensure the Company’s compliance with applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Draft and negotiate agreements to support the Shacks, including preventative maintenance, event and marketing/partnership agreements
  2. Oversee the beer and wine license procurement process for all Shacks
  3. Manage the new vendor on-boarding process to ensure adherence to the Company’s insurance and indemnification requirements
  4. Manage the Company’s insurance claims program, including with respect to guests, employees and property
  5. Manage the contract database
  6. Actively advise on laws and regulations across the country that impact the business
  7. Develop training modules for the Company’s intranet

Skills & Knowledge

  • Must be Bar Certified in the State of New York 
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree


  • At least 2 years of Legal experience
  • In house experience preferred
  • Large or mid-size law firm experience
