Concept Design Manager

This role contributes to Shake Shack’s success by supporting the design process to create outstanding designs that uphold the Shake Shack experience and brand. The role is inclusive of all phases of design from test-fits through construction documents and administration while respecting budget, schedule, and brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the design of restaurants within parameters of individual Shack budgets and market requirements with alignment from cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to design team goals by achieving target deliverables on new and existing restaurants and meeting all established deadlines
  • Manages the production of design and construction documents by external consultants. Responsible for the integrity and quality from test fits through construction documents; inclusive of working knowledge of detailing, code requirements, and MEP
  • Conducts site visits as needed

Skills & Knowledge

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Related Field
  • Organized and self-motivated individual who is passionate about the brand and dedicated to seeing their designs come to life in a thoughtful and practical way
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Ability to leverage knowledge of industry trends with strong 3D visualization ability and knowledge of color and design principles
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office is required
    Proficiency in Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp and other design software is preferred
  • Domestic travel required

Experience

  • 4-6 years of related work experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Retail, hospitality or restaurant design or development organization including management of construction documents
  • Managing outside architectural, MEP, and other design consultants and vendors
