Benefits Specialist 

The Benefits Specialist will assist with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) and relocation. They will act as the primary point of contact for benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and general inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the organization’s benefits programs to ensure accuracy of all benefits enrollments, plan documentation and timely processing and submission of allocation/billing charges.
  • Assist with Home Office onboarding and respond to manager and employee questions related to plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, claim issues and other general inquiries.
  • Perform quality checks of benefits related data; Research and analyze benefit plans, programs and data analysis to ensure benefits are cost effective and competitive.
  • Lead the open enrollment process including benefits plan and deduction set-up in HCM, training and communications.
  • Monitor government regulations, legislation and benefits trends and ensure compliance with ACA, state and federal laws.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors including insurance brokers and benefits carriers, and internal departments to align systems and processes.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field of study 
  • SHRM Certified Professional or CEBS certification preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of prior HR and/or benefits administration experience
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office products, particularly Excel
