Peace out, New York! The NYC Shack Crew Heads Upstate to Fresh Air Fund Camp

Aug 2, 2017

Shack’s out for summer! A group of NYC Shack team members trekked up to the Hudson Valley to volunteer with The Fresh Air Fund, Shake Shack’s regional community partner in Manhattan.

Since 1877, The Fresh Air Fund has unlocked the limitless potential of more than 1.8 million New York City kids from low-income communities. Each year, thousands of kids enjoy outdoor summer adventures through visits with volunteer host families along the East Coast and Southern Canada and at The Fund’s five overnight camps in Fishkill, NY.

The Shack crew hiked with campers to the Fresh Air Farm, where they made farm-sourced smoothies and talked about the importance of good ingredients. Who said nutritious can’t be delicious?

Manhattan Shacks support The Fresh Air Fund year-round by donating 5% of sales from their Pie Oh My concretes and by participating in volunteer initiatives here in NYC.
