Dallas Uptown Shack Honored For Design

Jul 20, 2017

We’re celebrating design in Dallas! As part of Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good®, each Shack is constructed thoughtfully and purposefully to fit its unique environment, using a creative design approach that creates places and experiences unlike anywhere else.

Our Dallas Uptown Shack was recently honored with the 2017 Design-Build National Award of Merit in Commercial Building by the Design-Build Institute of America for its innovation and community value.

Designed and constructed by The Beck Group of Dallas, the Shack activates its surrounding space to create a mini public park in the mixed-use development, The Crescent. A unique glass wall pays homage to our Madison Square Park roots by blurring the line between the park and the dining room, bringing the outside in. Walls are made from locally-sourced reclaimed wood and tables are crafted from reclaimed bowling alley lanes by CounterEvolution.

The Uptown Dallas Shack will go on to compete for a National Award of Excellence and the Project of the Year, to be announced in November.

Congrats to all!
