Our Commitment to Egg-cellence: Shake Shack Awarded Good Egg Award at 2017 Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards

Source for something good! Shake Shack had the honor of being recognized at Compassion in World Farming’s 2017 Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards (GFAWA).

At its annual prestigious awards show in London, the GFAWA recognize food companies for their commitments that positively impact farm animal welfare. Shake Shack was awarded GFAWA’s flagship award since 2007, the Good Egg Award, which celebrates companies that use or have committed to use cage-free eggs or egg products. We also received a Good Sow Commendation for meeting the welfare criteria for sows!

Shake Shack has always sourced incredible ingredients from like-minded ranchers, famers, bakers and purveyors, but we took a huge leap towards animal welfare in 2016 by converting all products that contain eggs to use only cage-free eggs. To further our commitment to good ingredients, we use 100% all-natural beef with no hormones and no antibiotics in our burgers and flat-top dogs, and our Chick'n Shack is 100% all-natural cage-free chicken. Our crinkle-cut fries contain zero artificial ingredients, and our frozen custard uses only real sugar–no corn syrup.

We Stand For Something Good® in all aspects of animal welfare and high-quality ingredients.
