Snuggle Up: Uptown Plaza and Kierland Commons Make Kitty Cozies for Arizona Humane Society

Jan 31, 2017

Cats need to be cozy, too!

Our Kierland Commons and Uptown Plaza Shacks helped out some of Arizona’s most vulnerable animals this past Wednesday, January 25th. Shack Team Members spent the day at the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) making “kitty cozies” for cats brought into the shelter. Cats get stressed out in a new environment, and having an item they can snuggle with and take everywhere calms them down and provides comfort until they’re adopted.

Volunteers from our Shack fam made 28 cozy blankets for AHS’ feline friends!

Founded in 1957, AHS works to ensure every pet has a good life through safeguarding, rescuing, sheltering, healing, adopting and advocating for animals in need. What started as a small shelter has grown to be Arizona’s largest animal welfare and protection agency and the state’s designated responder for animals in distress during natural disasters.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to help!
