The art of Shack. Our upcoming Downtown Detroit Shack teamed up with artist Jesse Kassel to “Shack-ify” the construction site at the First National Building, the future home of our first Michigan Shack.
Unveiled on Friday, October 18th, the brand-new mural features a bird’s-eye view of Detroit and its surrounding neighborhoods. Notable Detroit-area landmarks are featured throughout the painting, with Shack classics and logos distributed among them.
Born in West Bloomfield, Michigan, Jesse comes from a family of visual artists and followed suit by studying illustration at the College of Creative Studies. Now based out of Downtown Detroit’s Inner State Gallery, Jesse’s work has been shown locally and around the world. His art takes inspiration from vintage advertisements and graphic design, with a focus on illustration, graphic design and painting.

See ya in 2017, D-Town!
