Victory is sweet. For the first time ever, we partnered with the Drexel University Food Lab on a Concrete Competition! Drexel culinary students competed to dream up new, innovative frozen custard concretes inspired by Philly. Back in April, Shake Shack Culinary Director Mark Rosati judged three awesome semi-finalists based on taste, texture, name and level of Shack-ness: Banana Boathouse Row, Tahini-Meeny-Miney-Mo and City of Butter-ly Love.
Drumroll, please… we’re proud to announce that our winner is City of Butter-ly Love!
City of Butterly Love (Single: $4.59/ Double: $6.79) is a blend of our rich and creamy vanilla frozen custard, salted brown caramel, butter crisps and Philly butter cake. The University City Shack will be spinning City of Butter-ly Love throughout the month of July. If that isn’t sweet enough: $1 from every concrete sold will be donated to the Drexel University Food Lab to support culinary students.
Our winning culinary maestro is no other that Drexel student Emily Lloyd! Emily is a Culinary Arts Junior with a concentration on pastry and co-ops at La Colombe. Congrats, Emily!
We love Philly!
