Good 'N' Green

Happy Earth Day from the Union Station Shack!

Apr 22, 2016

So fresh and so green. The Union Station Shack team has committed to bringing Shack breakfast to all of this summer’s Casey Trees tree planting volunteer days. As part of its mission to Stand for Something Good, the Union Station Shack also donates 5% percent of sales from their Beaux-Arts Banana concrete to Casey Trees, devoted to restoring, enhancing, and protecting the tree canopy of D.C.

Union Station isn’t the only Shack with a green thumb. In fact, every Shake Shack partners with a local charitable organization to donate 5% of a special concrete, many of which are active environmental groups:

The University City Shack partners with the Schuylkill Banks, aiming to beautify and revitalize the tidal Schuylkill River.

The Madison Square Park partners with the Madison Square Park Conservancy, protecting, nurturing and enhancing Madison Square Park.

The Boca Raton Shack partners with the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, helping coastal and marine ecosystems through research, education, preservation and conservation.

The Battery Park City Shack partners with the Battery Park City Parks Conservancy, responsible for all normal parks operations ranging from trash removal to lighting maintenance, from tree pruning to education.

The New Haven Shack partners with Solar Youth, a local non-profit organization that empowers youth through environmental exploration, leadership and community service.

The Old Orchard Shack partners with The Talking Farm, an educational and production farm providing local, fresh food.
