We love our planet! We’re working hard to lessen our footprint, and promise to keep making strides. Here’s where we are now:
100% of Shake Shack’s electric usage is offset through Renewable Energy Certificates from 3Degrees, supporting wind farms in Iowa, Nebraska and Indiana.Bottles, cardboard, plastics, and cooking oil are recycled for clean energy to be used again.We serve Keeper Springs, a bottled water that comes from US sources (25% of its packaging made from recycled materials). Keeper Springs donates 100% of its profits to the Waterkeeper Alliance.We compost all of our back of kitchen food waste.Each Shack is constructed from recycled and sustainable materials. Our tabletops are sourced from reclaimed bowling alley lanes, handcrafted in Brooklyn by Counter Revolution. Our walls are made from reclaimed antique barn wood siding and chairs feature lumber certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council.We use energy efficient kitchen equipment and employ LED lighting throughout the space.
